Mosaic Peace Sculpture
In Support of the Ukrainian people
Little did we know a war was brewing in the east. On February 25 2022
I draped the sculpture with a 9 meter Ukrainian Flag.
It has become a perfect beacon for peace in Ukraine.
Working with the local community of artisans and neighborhood children we applied mirrors, glass jewels, pennies and tiles to the steel frame
to reflect positivity and light, to bring the local community of Burbach, Germany together.
It has been a vision of mine and our Ukrainian community here to gift this Sculpture to Kiev.
We have hosted four Ukrainian families and now worked with many Ukrainian children on this project.
We have had "art days" at the studio for 60 children. The children made art for the soldiers on the front lines in Ukraine.
Both Oberbürgermeister Uwe Conradt and Bezirksbürgermeisterin Isolde Ries have been active with this Sculpture.
